On November 25-26, we will complete another scavenger bird count at Guadiana Valley SPA and Mourão-Moura-Barrancos SPA.
As usual, we will have the support of a team of volunteers that for the past months has contributed to the success of this action! At the same time, these young birdwatchers gain experience in the observation and identification of birds of prey.

The regular counts of black vultures and other scavenger birds performed under the scope of Habitat Lince Abutre LIFE project aim to monitoring the abundances of these species in the Special Protection Areas of Guadiana Valley and Mourão-Moura-Barrancos, where several measures are being implemented to improve the survival, feeding and breeding conditions of the black vulture (e.g. artificial nests, feeding stations).
