Black Vulture 'visits' Sado Estuary Natural Reserve
11 October 2011

Hundreds of people visited last weekend Mourisca’s estate, for another Edition of ObservaNatura, a fair that for the last years has gathered, among others, nature tourism companies, organizations for nature and biodiversity conservation, optical companies and bird watchers, as well as many curious, in a scenario with a privileged view to the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve.
At the stand of LPN – League for the Protection of Nature, the coordinator beneficiary of LIFE Habitat Lince Abutre, the fair’s visitors learned more about this conservation project and, particularly, about the Black Vulture – the largest raptor in Europe that, in Portugal, is Critically Endangered.

To better inform the population, the project now has a mobile exposition with information on the target species, the Iberian lynx and the Black Vulture, the threats they face and the objectives we propose to promote its habitat in the Southeast of Portugal. This exposition will be exhibited in the project’s intervention area and other places all over the country where events about nature conservation will take place.
Stay tuned to its route!
