Presentation of the comics ‘Iberian lynx – its history in Portugal’
6 June 2011

The LIFE Habitat Lince Abutre Project, with the support of Moura’s city council and the cooperation of Espaço Inovinter, presented last June 3rd, at Moura, the comics ‘Iberian-lynx: its history in Portugal’.

With illustrations of one of the most notable Portuguese comics’ authors, José dos Santos Garcês, and script of the biologist Bruno Pinto, this book leads us through a lecture given by a biologist that talks to his audience about the Iberian lynx and its history, since the Middle Ages to the present day, with some passages in Portugal and Spain as well.
The main goal of this book, edited under the scope of the Project, is to inform and aware youngsters and adults on the Iberian lynx conservation. Therefore, this book will be distributed to libraries, municipalities and schools within the project’s intervention area.

Opened to the population, the presentation took place at Adega da Mantana and was conducted by Carlos Rico, a local cartoonist and coordinator of ‘Moura BD – International Comics Salon, along with José dos Santos Garcês, Bruno Pinto, José Pós-de-Mina – president of Moura’s city council, and Alexandra Cunha – president of LPN’s national board.
More than 50 people were present, including delegates of local associations and authorities, illustrators, landowners and managers, students and other local citizens, and several members of the project’s team.
